S13 SR20DET BLACK TOP with TOMEI ARMS 7960 TURBO.

Here is another SR20 engine with TOMEI turbo.

This car has 140,000km stock engine, bit risky? but let's try.

Again Tomei bolt on turbo with Poncam, injector and pump.

And here is the result, normally stock T25 turbo will make 180~190kw at wheel at 1.2 bar of boost.

With this set up, almost 100hp at engine gain.

around 380~400HP at engine.

Here is the another option.

Garrett 2871-R vs TOMEI M7960 turbo

This S14 has been running with Garrett 2871-R turbo, the engine has piston and camshaft as well.

However this turbo, the boost is dropping with rpm increase.

Solution?!!try some other turbo?

So we got this TOMEI ARMS M7960 turbo from Tomei Japan as a testimony?

See What is the differences?

As you know this turbo comes with all you need, turbo, gasket, water and oil hose, piping etc.

And we tested with same car, same engine same dyno, just change turbo and compare.

Tomei turbo is slightly lager, however this is not ball bearing turbo.

And this is the result!

As we expected that response is slower than Garrett. Around 40hp at wheel more at peak, at almost same rpm.

Boost response is slower, however steady till top.

We have another option!!

JZX100 with TOMEI TURBO and CAMSHAFT.

Fresh rebuilt engine(stock internal) with TOMEI M8280 bolt on turbo,and camshaft.

It's ready for tune!

This car has Power FC Ljetro engine management, good things with Power FC on this model is that you can control cam timing as well, nice to tune with larger turbo like this set up.  

This is bolt on Turbo, so no mess! I like it!!!

And result is...

Over 300kw at wheel 1.45 bar of boost(around 450hp at engine), and 280kw at 1.1 bar.

The air flow meter is almost max in this stage, however it's better to have it, especially driving on street mainly.

Best boost is around 1.2~1.3 bar for this set up, 280~290kw at wheel.

Good result!!!

NEW SPEC SUBARU!!

This SUBARU station waggon came for tuning. We heard this car is non turbo, so engine sound is bit? different from usual.??

This is 3 litter 6 cylinder engine from Legacy, look very natural and sound very nice!!! Also very sharp on response as well!!

Engine control by LINK G4 extreme ECU,5MT and made over 165kw at 4wheel!

Actually it's very nice to drive!

BMW 335i with Access PORT

This BMW335i family? sedan has 3 liter twin turbo engine.

3 liter twin turbo? Sound familiar? Supra..Arist..

Anyway we checked power first.

200kw at wheel, 0.45 bar of boost. Not too bad for family sedan.

And Do it yourself tune? Just around 15 minutes job? made 30kw at wheel.

The Access provide another two maps, however stage 1 was best choice for this vehicle.

This is good enough for  BABY ON BOARD car!!!

TOMEI M7655 turbo

Well we've been tried many twin turbo set up, this time TOMEI M7655 twin turbo to try and check!

This turbo kit comes with all parts you need, and just under US$3000(NZ$3500).Good cost performance !! How about real performance???

We tried with this R32GTR 2.6 liter, camshaft, piston etc.

The power(purple line) is compared with Garrett 2860-5(red line), the top end power is almost the same, and boost response is..

Garrett turbo is almost 500rpm faster responce, Is this ball bearing advantage?, It could be.

We have another option!!

The Evolution of SUBARU STI GRB

This SUBARU GRB STI has been step up from full stock. Start from basic air filter, and exhaust ECU flash etc.

Currently the car has HKS F-con ECU, injector, pump, boost controller etc..it's ready to step more up!!

And this time,  stepping more further???....but still engine is full stock??!! till pop???

The HKS 3037 turbo kit and Blitz front mount intercooler are on(not really bolt on but)!

Inter warmer???

Still stock engine, however reached almost 300kw mark!!   Next....... internal?!!

Clean up first......!

Building Racing engine will need extra clean up??

Anyway it will take bit time!

BMW M3 Twin Turbo Set Up

This BMW M3 has twin turbo set up.

Two small turbo on exhaust side...one on top and another one at bottom... cannot see from top...

And it seems that this modification has been done by all American parts, including AEM engine management.

AEM has been getting popular in New Zealand recently..

Anyway this M3 making 390kw at wheel over only 14psi.!!!

Stock N1 engine with TOMEI PROCAM

We do know how much power gain from Tomei Poncam. How about Procam?

This time, we try with this R33GTR with stock N1 engine(turbo has been changed).  

Up to 10.25mm, most of RB26head doesn't need head machining, however it need to change valve spring& retainer, and lifter. Shimming is required of cause. 

We need to spend time to change those parts when engine is not out of vehicle, however result is...

The power and torque gain from low RPM to top end, over 40kw at wheel on peak power.
